Discover Le Manoir Saint Thomas
Said to have been founded as a priory around 1107, the history of the Manoir Saint Thomas dates back to the 12th century.th century.
At 15th century, King François 1er is said to have stayed there with Diane de Poitiers (room 10). The salamanders and herringbone ceilings decorated with dolphins and fleurs-de-lis still bear witness to this stay.
The house has since been restored over the years and its soul is reflected in the stained glass windows and doors.
It's a haven of peace for exploring the historic centre of Amboise and all the châteaux of the Loire.
The Manoir reflects the tranquillity and serenity of Vermeer's paintings.
You can daydream in front of an open window or by a fireplace about his still, living figures reading a letter, chatting, laughing or stroking a child's hair.
